Welcome to Northern Masters AC

The club was founded in 1968 as Northern Veterans as one of the first within the burgeoning veteran athletics movement, and several founder members went on to to establish the British and World Veteran organisations in 1975/77. Northern Masters is an Area Club of the British Masters Athletic Federation (BMAF) and England Athletics Masters Association (EAMA) and covers the region of Cheshire, Cumbria, north Derbyshire, Lancashire, Lincolnshire, Greater Manchester, Merseyside, and Yorkshire.

The club provides friendly runs and competition over road, trail, cross country and track and field athletics for those over the age of 35. You are welcome to come along as a guest to any Monthly Run or Track & Field League meeting; club championships are reserved for fully paid-up members with guests accepted but ineligible for medals. The club offers First Claim, Second Claim and social membership, and is affiliated to England Athletics, BMAF and EAMA. A membership form and joining instructions are contained on the membership page on this site. As a member you will receive a quarterly club newsletter and a regular magazine from British Masters each containing news, articles and details of forthcoming fixtures.

This website is intended to keep you informed of: – forthcoming Northern Masters’ fixtures and championships; – national events of the British Masters; – international fixtures at Home, European and World level; – results of Northern Masters’ races and performances of our members in national and international competitions; – a contact point with the NMAC committee; – and provide links to the British Masters, European Masters, and World Masters Associations.
