Masters Inter Area Champs

A small but select team of NMACers made the long trip down to Lee Valley today for the Masters ndoor inter area champs.

A win for Carl McMullen in the M35 long jump after his effort in the 60m hurdles and a couple of points for myself in the pole vault started the day, however I had to leave unfinished to go off and do the 1500m. These 35 year olds are a bit quicker than this 47 year old but I made it round for a point.

A great race by Sharon Wilkinson in the W35 400m saw her win her heat off the final bend however was pipped on time overall by th girls in heat 2.

In a fiercely competitive 2 heats in the M35 400m Andy Parker managed 5th whilst Leeroy Golding secured 4th in the M50s.

Carl was again in action in the 60m coming 4th, as did Leeroy as last minute stand on in the M50s. Carol Holt returned to come 6th in the W35 too.

In the triple jump Roger Morley debuted with a 4th dropping down to the M50 category and Carl won even more points with 3rd in the M35s.

In the Shot we had Geoff Render opening his season in the M35s and Leeroy again standing in for the team in the M50s, both with fine performances!

In the M35 800m I was again left for dead by the speedy youngsters, Graham Webster just pipped my time finishing 6th in the M60s. Sharon again competed with a very credible 3rd in the F35s.

The 200m saw fine performances again from Andy, Leeroy and Carol coming 2nd, 5th and 6th respectively.

The 3000m saw another fantastic effort by Graham in the M60s and amazingly a 5 second PB for yours truly in the M35s coming 4th.

Carl also competed in the high jump coming 5th.

Unfortunately we were all broken by the time it came to the relays but it was a fantastic day!!! Thanks all for making the trip down!!!!
