The post of Fixtures Secretary is interesting, varied and critical to our members. Currently this role is undertaken by existing Committee members who all help where they can but the role really requires a dedicated person in order to deliver the best to our members.
Currently we hold a Track & Field championship which is organised by Darren Scott and a 5K road race championship in Leeds organised by Jason Newell. We also have team managers who organise our athletes to attend events such as Inter Area meetings. The fixtures secretary would require good communication and liaison with these existing organisers and team managers but would also identify other club races and fixtures where we could incorporate our 3000m, 10000m, 10k road, half marathon and cross country champs. To date we have managed to deliver this but in an ad hoc fashion and looking to the future, we would like expand our offering by identifying clubs/venues who could host mid week evening track meets.
The role would suit someone who likes relationship building, networking and developing new collaborations.
Attendance at monthly Committee meetings on Zoom would be required.
