England Masters Cross Country Selection Race, Betley near Crewe– 28 September 2024
For all those NMAC members who are interested in applying for selection as part of the England team for the British & Irish Masters Cross Country International (which this year being held in Belfast on 16 November) entries are now open on the BMAF website https://bmaf.org.uk/regional-fixtures. It is open to all paid up members of the BMAF area clubs in England. The trial race is being held on Saturday, 28 September at Betley, near Crewe.
There are two races:
Race 1 . 1-1.30pm W and M65+ .5k for all women’s age categories and men 65 to 80 plus
Race 2. 2.15 pm M35-64 . 8k for Men 35 to 64.
The first 3 athletes from each 5-year age category in Race 1 and in categories M55 and M60 in Race 2 are guaranteed selection as part of the England team. Similarly the first 4 athletes in the other 5-year age categories M35 up to M50 in race 2 are guaranteed selection,
The W35 to W75+ and M55 to M80+ age categories are teams of 4. The M35-M50 age categories are teams of 6.
The remaining places in the teams plus the reserves for each category will be selected by the area selectors immediately following the selection races.
